Section is founded in 2008 with the aim to connect and encourage cooperation between botanical gardens and arboretums in Croatia. Starting from 2011, the Section organizes the yearly Week of Botanical Gardens of Croatia, primarily with expert-educational purpose. It is held throughout the whole Croatia, within different botanical gardens and arboretums, which organize expert lectures, round tables, free guided tours, workshops, popular lectures, movie projections, puppet shows, botanical quizzes and various gatherings. The main purpose of these events is to connect the public with the existence of botanical gardens and arboretums, show their purpose and their role in the society, and to find a popular way to educate the public and bring it closer to different aspects of botany.
