CROATIAN BOTANICAL SOCIETY

SECTION FOR VEGETATION ECOLOGY AND PHYTOCOENOLOGY

The Section for Vegetation Ecology and Phytosociology of the Croatian Botanical Society was founded in 2019 and brings together botanists engaged in the study of vegetation in Croatia and neighbouring regions. The activities of the Section are focused on investigating the structure, composition, and dynamics of vegetation across different spatial scales and ecological conditions, often using the phytosociological method. The specific goals of the Section include bringing together vegetation ecologists, fostering professional and scientific collaboration, and promoting and popularising vegetation ecology within the botanical community and among the general public. In this context, the Section encourages the exchange of knowledge and experience through scientific and professional meetings, workshops, field research, lectures, and participation in projects, as well as through cooperation with institutions and other related associations.
